Our Approach

We use disposable biodegradable drawstring bags. The material acts like cotton -- it doesn't rip, is very sturdy, allows the water to pass through but not the grinds.

The favored recipe is to use a 64-ounce (half gallon) Mason Jar, put 6 cups of cold filtered water in it. Place the coffee grounds inside the disposable drawstring large bag…about 2 cups of coarsely ground coffee. This should fill up the pitcher. Put the lid on it and put it in the refrigerator for 40 to 48 hours.
